Enjoying small moments of happiness

WeChat has become an integral part of people's daily lives. My friends and colleagues, even during their busy work schedules, often send out red envelopes on WeChat Moments, which always sparks a joyful frenzy.

A few days ago, my colleague Xiao Gao was holding her phone, laughing heartily. "I just got 50 cents!" she exclaimed excitedly.

Seeing her delighted expression, I told her, "Some experts online have calculated that the cost of grabbing a red envelope is 3 cents. If you only get 1 cent, you'll have to pay out 2 cents! This red envelope grabbing business isn't necessarily worthwhile!"

"No, no," she replied. "You can't calculate it like that. We grab red envelopes without considering the cost; it's all about being quick and having a good time, grabbing a moment of joy, grabbing a special feeling between friends. In my opinion, grabbing red envelopes is a kind of micro-happiness."

Micro-happiness? How well said! Once upon a time, in search of happiness that seemed so far away, we didn't hesitate to travel far and wide, even sacrificing immediate pleasures, only to discover that happiness is actually a feeling, something we need to perceive and experience. Happiness is subtle; it never comes in a deluge, nor does it descend like a tidal wave. Happiness is like the gentle spring rain that brings life to all things, like the babbling brook. Happiness is quiet and unassuming. Only those who pay attention can feel its presence.

In our lives, small moments of happiness accompany us every day: a toddler calling you "Mommy"; coming home from overtime to a loved one's warm smile, gentle greetings, and a delicious dinner; at work, an encouraging and approving look from your boss, and a knowing smile from your colleagues; visiting your elderly parents back home, finding them healthy, preparing a meal for you, and chatting casually…

These seemingly insignificant moments of happiness fill every ordinary day, bringing us a beautiful feeling and allowing us to truly appreciate the beauty of life.

Enjoy life, starting with enjoying the small moments of happiness every moment.
