Recalling the glorious past

In the lonely night, I think of you, gazing at the sky, tears streaming down my face in silence. The two brightest stars are separated by an unreachable distance. Did the shooting star awaken your memory? Did the drifting cloud carry your words? I long to share a drink with you under the moon, to melt our tenderness into the wine. I long to lie drunk in your body, never to rise again.

Xiao Tang was just an ordinary, honest farmer's child. In his memory, his father worked far away, his mother caring for him and his sister at home. His father loved to drink, and after each drink, he would go on a drunken rampage, offending many relatives with his drunken words. His mother even divorced twice because of this. Xiao Tang experienced two divorces and the disdain of many relatives, so he matured prematurely from a young age. This is only a 12-year-old child! Just because he is weak, does that mean he should know so much? The post-2000 generation is God's biggest mistake; at only teenagers, they have to consider everything and live according to others' wishes!

In recent years, my father's income has increased, so he moved our whole family to where he works. Things happened so suddenly that Xiaotang didn't even have time to say goodbye to his childhood friend! The black cat we'd raised for two years was entrusted to the care of our neighbor's elderly grandmother. My parents enrolled him in a local primary school, and two years passed. Xiaotang was now of middle school age, and his parents took him to take entrance exams for two prestigious schools. He entered one of them. The school was a mixed bag, fiercely competitive—either top students or struggling students—and Xiaotang was just an inconspicuous student, unnoticed by the teachers. Xiaotang was an introverted, kind-hearted, and unassuming person. His introversion meant he wasn't good at communicating and had few close friends. A casual act of kindness from his Chinese teacher sparked a great interest in literature in him. He was punished by being made to stand in class for reading "Dawn Blossoms Plucked at Dusk." He greatly admired Lu Xun's essays, and many of Lu Xun's words benefited him immensely. He also greatly admires classical poetry, fantasizing about roaming the land with Li Bai, righting wrongs and leaving without a trace, his deeds hidden from view, and imagining himself as Xin Qiji, drunk, brandishing his sword by lamplight, dreaming of bugles echoing through the camps.

Differences in educational approaches can lead to misunderstandings and resistance from some students. Chinese parents often teach children from a young age that only by studying hard can they get into university and have a bright future. Chinese teachers employ a practical education approach, which some students find difficult to adapt to, causing them to give up certain things. In contrast, foreign education places greater emphasis on cultivating interests and hobbies. The idea that "learning relies on perseverance and hard work" – was this conclusion drawn by someone who excels in learning, or by someone who struggles? Imagine

a child sitting for three hours without moving, focused and absorbed in their studies. Another child sits for 30 minutes, feeling restless and miserable. The second child will likely conclude that the first child is incredibly persevering and hardworking; "I sit here for 30 minutes feeling like I'm sitting on pins and needles, he's amazing, so diligent and hardworking!" That's their conclusion. Meanwhile, the child who sat there for three hours felt happy, not miserable; otherwise, no one could sit still for three hours. For example, child A enjoys surfing the internet and can sit in front of the computer all day; while child B doesn't like surfing the internet and can't sit still for long. Can you say that child A's... Is the internet painful? If we understand this principle, imagine someone sitting there, able to concentrate on learning, their brain excited, focused, solving problems, and experiencing the sense of accomplishment, value, and self-affirmation that comes with mastering the material. That feeling is incredibly joyful—ten times more so than physical pain. It makes them forget the discomfort caused by prolonged sitting. This is the true human experience. In educating children, if you want them to go to a good university, you must find ways to make learning enjoyable!

Because of Xiaotang's conflicting thoughts with reality and his family's financial situation, he chose the worst path. He dropped out of school!

In the blink of an eye, a child's dream shattered! He blames no one.
