Defiant ambition

 　　Human beings are insignificant, like a grain of sand in the vast ocean, a speck of dust in the universe. They cannot ascend to godhood, nor descend to the underworld; they can only live a life of mediocrity, passing their remaining years in idleness! Yet even fledglings dare to sing to the heavens, mayflies try to shake trees, and mantises have the will to stop a chariot! How much more so should humans! We, the people of this generation, should have the ambition to defy the heavens, and act against the heavens

　　 , even if crushed into dust! We will have no regrets! A thousand years ago, our ancestors could only dream of landing on the moon, hence the beautiful myths of Chang'e flying to the moon; now, we have successfully landed on the moon. A thousand years ago, our ancestors could only dream of entering the sea, hence the fantastical myths of immortals meeting the Dragon King; now, we can dive deep into the ocean. A thousand years ago, our ancestors could only dream of flying, hence the wondrous myths of riding dragons and phoenixes; now, we can successfully fly. Therefore, we, the people of this generation, must possess the ambition to defy the heavens. Even the Foolish Old Man could move mountains, Jingwei could fill the sea, and Kuafu could chase the sun. As long as we harbor this ambition, no matter the hardships, we can surely accomplish something extraordinary! Even if we fail in this life, our efforts will not be in vain; they will lay a perfect foundation for the success of future generations!

　　Humans once fought with wild beasts for food, struggling on the edge of life and death; but today, wild beasts are prisoners, and everything in heaven and earth becomes food if humans so desire. Why? Because we, the people of this generation, possess the ambition to defy the heavens, unwilling to be confined by the rules of heaven and earth, and unwilling to be among the lowest of all living things. Therefore, everyone contributes their strength to build an ideal world together, thus achieving unparalleled success and fulfilling all our desires! We, the people of this generation, do not possess the sharp claws of a tiger, the agility of a leopard, or the overwhelming strength of an elephant. Yet, it is precisely these seemingly weak humans who become the masters of heaven and earth. Why this? Because we, the people of this generation, possess an ambition to defy fate, unwilling to be mere prey for others. Therefore, we leverage our strengths and conceal our weaknesses. Furthermore, united by this ambition, we can achieve anything we desire! Thus, the Kun fish, with its ambition to defy fate, leaps to become the Peng bird, breaking free from the sea's constraints and soaring through the sky; the carp, with its ambition to defy fate, leaps to become the dragon, breaking free from the stream's constraints and riding the clouds.

　　Qin Shi Huang, with his ambition to defy fate, unified the six kingdoms, achieving unprecedented feats; Emperor Wu of Han, with his ambition to defy fate, defeated the Xiongnu, protecting China; Emperor Taizu of Ming, with his ambition to defy fate, quelled the chaos at the end of the Yuan Dynasty and unified the world. Therefore, with an ambition to defy fate, one can surely establish an immortal legacy! During the Spring and Autumn and Warring States periods, the states were constantly at war, and the people suffered greatly. It was during this time that scholars developed an ambition to defy fate and bring a better life to the people, thus giving rise to the Hundred Schools of Thought! Their influence has lasted for millennia! Moreover, the chaotic era came to an end, giving rise to a unified society.

      Without the will to defy fate, individuals can only lead mediocre lives and cannot achieve great feats. A nation without the will to defy fate is like a ship without a beacon; it will ultimately sink and all will perish.
